I slept warm last night, though my thermometer said 0 degrees at 3:00 AM, I woke up with sleeping bag and both tent walls covered in ice. Condensation is a hugeproblem in these temps. So, because my tent and bags will not dry in temps below 32 degrees all day, and it is supposed to be even colder tonight, and I’m no real hurry to die of hyperthermia, I opted to get a room. (NOTE: because of these type precautions the last 15 years of walking, I have not died one single time!) I had to walk three miles off my route in order to get a room before dark. At The River Outfitters, LOVE LIFE shirt sales, paid for my room tonight and a concerned Facebook friend booked the room for Saturday. Night time temps are supposed to go up into the high 20’s starting Sunday. Until this weather breaks, it is going to be very slow progress on getting further south. Whatever?? Isn’t Life just superb when we finally evolve into the wisdom of, “It is what it is… let’s go for it!” I don’t have regrets, I only have adjustments. God, I LOVE LIFE.
