12/18/13. I’m at my friends, Ray Karno and his wife Hillary Milenko Karno’s home in Coronado, California. I had lots of cards of warm wishes waiting for me. I received an awesome new camera and new boots from Danner. I’ve got new gloves, new socks, a neck warmer, and a hand knitted cap. I also received gift cards that will come in real handy and some cash. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your thoughtfulness!! I was about 12 miles from Coronado in La Jolla and my cart broke big time, beyond even the miracles Zip-Ties and duct tape can perform. Ray and I will visit bike shops today and look at possibly getting another one. WE will also try and find all the other things I will need to continue on. I need a new sleeping bag, a new sleeping mat and several new articles of clothing. I will be very busy trying to get everything together before I leave on Friday and head north. Coronado is beautiful as is San Diego! The chicken that Ray and Hillary prepared was beautiful too. The shot of Knob Creek Bourbon was nice and so was NOT sleeping in my tent in bushes at the side of the road. I will update again as soon as possible. Merry Christmas to all of you!
